La Paz Shuttle Services – Baja, Mexico

La Paz is an excellent entry point to Baja Sur. The city is charming and can be a standalone destination but many tourists come for the surrounding beaches and greater regional appeal. It’s the perfect jumping off point for snorkel trips, wind sports, wildlife tours, fishing and much more.

The airport here is located just west of the city center. Numerous shuttle and taxi services are available as this is a busy international airport. Some of the shuttles even connect to destinations located 1-2 hours from the city.

Shuttle from La Paz to Cabo Airport

The southern end of Baja has some interesting options in terms of travel. With two international airports, it’s not uncommon for a need to connect La Paz and San Jose del Cabo or Cabo San Lucas. As the two major hubs, there is a serious demand for shuttles between each city. The drive is over two hours long but it’s all paved highway.

Here are a few options for shuttle between Cabo and La Paz:

La Paz Mexico Airport Shuttle

For simple airport transfers in La Paz, your hotel likely has a shuttle service. If they don’t, there are plenty of taxi and rideshare options for local travel. That said, it’s easy to hire a private shuttle service in the area as well. Shuttles are excellent for groups and travelers with a decent amount of luggage. They can also take you anywhere in the area. Some even route to La Ventana and other smaller communities in the region.

Bus from Cabo Airport to La Paz

While private shuttles offer a comfortable ride, the bus system is also fantastic. It runs on a regular schedule and connects La Paz, Todos Santos and Cabo. It’s also super affordable with tickets running in the $20 range. While the private shuttles in La Paz are appealing, it’s hard to beat the economy of the bus route for longer trips. We love that you can hop off in Todos Santos and back on again at your convenience too.

Planning for the Seasons in Baja Sur

Rates vary by vendor but you are likely to find or negotiate lower fees during the off-season. Arriving in peak winter season means the rates are higher and there is little wiggle room. It’s nice to travel in groups because you can split costs as many shuttle services charge by the vehicle. Sharing definitely helps to keep fees lower.

As always, book at least a week in advance to guarantee you will have a ride on arrival!
