Did you have an accident in Mexico? It’s important to file your claim while still in Mexico. Call the number at the scene of the accident, immediately after you are safe and in a position to call. You will need a Mexico calling plan or local line to make the call. Each of our insurers has a different number for filing. The numbers are written on your policy and listed below for convenience.
Follow the instructions given by your insurer. You will want a copy of the adjuster report and police report made on the scene. Gather everything before leaving the country, including your claim number to use as a reference. After the vehicle is moved, repaired and returned to service, you can call the US and Canada number to follow up on the claim. Claims are often handled within a 30-day period.

Tips for Handling an Accident and Claim Process in Mexico
Accidents are scary even in the case of a minor fender bender. Ideally, the damage is aesthetic and you can drive away from the scene. If the accident is more serious, your vehicle may be moved to a repair shop or other secure location.
- Make sure the scene is safe before doing anything
- If the vehicle is moved, instruct the insurance company about the new location.
- Stay with the vehicle. Your possessions are not covered against theft unless you purchase a premium policy with full coverage. If needed, make arrangements to move your possessions separately before the vehicle is moved.
- Stay at the scene, call the appropriate number and the adjuster will come to you.
