Imagine waking up in a plush bed, beneath the cover of canvas as a cool morning breeze rolls in off the sea. Glamping is essentially camping with some serious upgrades. You can enjoy being closely connected to the natural surroundings while also enjoying the comforts of home.
In northern and southern Baja, glamping options have significantly increased over the years and there are some truly amazing experiences available. For the roadtrippers and fly-in crowd, consider finding your way to a glamping tent somewhere on the Pacific coastline or Sea of Cortez.
My #1 Pick: Punta Chivato – Colibri Glamping
I spend a fair amount of time in Mulege while road tripping around this region of Baja. On my last trip north however, I mixed things up and booked a few nights in Punta Chivato. I’ve always wanted to check out this area but have never made the turn off the highway. It’s a quiet place with a few houses and very few rentals or places to stay.

Colibri Glamping is a single glamping tent situated with unobstructed views and access to the beach. It sits just below the host’s house but is also private with a parking space, excellent hot water shower, off-grid bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The tent has a mini-fridge, couch, air conditioning unit and it has a great vibe.
I loved hearing the sea at night while sleeping. I was also excited to have no neighbors and a completely private experience.
Valle de Guadalupe Glamping Options
The wine country is a temperate region with cool nights and picturesque days. For camping, it’s a pretty amazing place to enjoy. It’s also home to many of the nicest glamping setups on the entire peninsula.
Lago Valle Wine Glamping
The spacious tents sit on elevated platforms with comfortable beds. They have a shared bathhouse and offer experiences alongside the available lodging. Go for an ATV ride, explore the wine country and more with your hosts.
Casa Misiones Glamping
You’ll have plenty of elbow room in the large wall tents situated on elevated platforms. They have a variety of tent options, some having electricity, Wifi and amenities more akin to a hotel. A few tents even offer air conditioning, leather chairs and the comforts of a developed room. The layout is very private and every tent has a private bathroom as well. This is a wonderful option for a basecamp in wine country.
Yuma Glamping de Valle
Sip your coffee in the morning while looking out over rolling hills and the surrounding mountains. The three glamping spots have great tents, plush beds, a mini-split in each, and nice deck areas to sit and enjoy the scenery.
This location is best for singles and couples as the tents are not designed to house large groups. Private outdoor showers are also available for each tent. When you’re not enjoying the wine country or sleeping in a big bed, take a dip in the pool, drink coffee and take full advantage of this beautiful setting.
Ensenada Glamping Locations
Many of the Ensenada based glamping locations also serve the Valle de Guadalupe. The two locations are adjacent so there is often some overlap between them. When I think of Ensenada glamping options, being close to the coast is important.
Indigo Glamping is a great place that is reasonably close to Ensenada but also at the entrance to the Valle de Guadalupe. It’s the perfect mix of coastal convenience without leaving the wine region. Caba Glamping Resort in Rosarito is also ideal for staying directly on the coast.
San Felipe and the Northern Sea of Cortez
While the west coast and wine region is loaded with glamping options, there are fewer on the northern Sea of Cortez side. That said, the ones that do exist are absolutely wonderful. This area does have numerous RV parks and campgrounds however. If you bring your own tent or trailer, finding a campground is especially easy.
El Sanctuario – San Felipe
This is classic Baja glamping on a perfect sandy beach where you can listen to the tides rolling in and out as you sleep. They offer a variety of tent layouts to accommodate couples or multiple people in separate beds. They have Wifi, shared bathrooms and one of the best locations imaginable.
CG Glamping
Located in the heart of San Felipe, this property offers several amazing container houses, a pool, fresh food and everything you need for a perfect visit. Next time you head south for an off road rally or other event, consider booking one of these super comfortable containers.
Cerritos, El Pescadero and Todos Santos
The southern Pacific Coast of Baja has a number of amazing glamping locations. I’ve stayed in a few, scouted a few more and there really aren’t any bad options. If you love surfing, great restaurants and small town culture, this is the place for you.
Libra Hostel-Campground-Glamping
Located in El Pescadero, this is a super quiet area with expansive views and beaches on the Pacific. Some amazing surf breaks are nearby and the property offers van sites, camping sites and a beautiful glamping tent with beds, privacy, electricity showers and more. It’s a very quiet place to enjoy an evening under the stars.
Cerritos Glamping Bed and Bagel

One of several options in town, this property has an excellent layout and it’s solely focused on glamping. They have a very thoughtful spread of tents in a high-comfort setting. I only scouted the property as the location is close to The Experience glamping tents and tiny homes. It was impressive and is definitely worth considering.
The Experience – Cerritos
I stayed in one of the tiny homes on this property and they also had a few glamping tents. The layout, ambiance and access to town was perfect. Overall, I was really impressed with the quality and price of staying here.

Sea of Cortez Glamping Locations
The Sea of Cortez side has no shortage of options either. I do prefer the Pacific for the cool afternoon breezes. That said, Cabo Pulmo is one of the best destinations anywhere and it has several camping locations and a few glamping tents as well.
ChiloChill Glamping Resort – La Ventana
La Ventana is a busy town in the winter months with kiteboarders, anglers and visitors enjoying the nice weather and great beaches. This location has a full kitesurf school, restaurant on-site, mountain bikes and several amazing glamping tents with full comfort amenities.
Still Looking for a Baja Glamping Adventure?
If this list isn’t enough, there are always new places popping up on the peninsula. Don’t underestimate inland glamping and camping locations as the desert is quiet and filled with nature. Otherwise, keep an eye on the coastal destinations, especially during the winter months when the climate is inviting for outdoor living. We have barely scratched the surface here and there are plenty of places to explore.
Happy glamping!
