Los Barriles Shuttle Options

Some of the best destinations in Baja Sur aren’t convenient to an airport location. They are situated on coastlines only accessible by road. Reaching these places isn’t difficult with a basic shuttle service however.

Los Barriles is one of those idyllic destinations in Baja Sur that feels far removed from air traffic but it is also a short enough drive from the airport that it’s easy to access.

Where is Los Barriles?

The East Cape of Baja Sur is located on the Sea of Cortez. It has temperate waters, great beaches and some wonderful towns to visit. Los Barriles is situated on the East Cape and it’s home to some fantastic town beaches and world class wind sports and sportfishing.

Los Barriles has no shortage of local attractions to keep you busy but it’s also a short drive from Cabo Pulmo. Consider renting an ATV when you reach town or take a kitesurfing lesson. It’s ideal for shuttles because everything you can imagine is possible right from town.

Fly into one of the major airports, grab a shuttle and stay in town until your vacation is over!

Shuttle from La Paz to Los Barriles

La Paz has a major airport and it’s only 1.5 hours to reach Los Barriles. This makes it a great option if you find affordable or convenient flights. Shuttle services from La Paz to Los Barriles do exist but you will find more options in the Cabo area. It’s worth investigating if the flight to La Paz is better for your trip but book in advance because there are fewer vendors on-call for shuttles from this airport.

Shuttle from Cabo to Los Barriles

San Jose del Cabo is the more popular airport destination and Cabo San Lucas is home to many of the shuttle services. You can book one of these services for airport pickup and a shuttle to Los Barriles. It’s just over an hour from the airport which makes this the best option for affordable flights with few connections in many cases.

Some of the resorts and lodging options on the East Cape have their own airport shuttles. Double check when you book for this option as you may not require private shuttles. Of course, most Airbnb’s and other private rentals do not offer shuttles. In these cases, you can book one of the many service providers in the Cabo area.

Getting Around When You Arrive

Depending on where you stay, having local transportation might be necessary. The best bet is to stay in town where you can walk around or at a resort where you won’t need local transport. When you do feel like exploring, look to local tour operators or just rent an ATV for the say. Many locals drive ATVs as a primary means of getting around the beaches and streets in Los Barriles.
