Once you reach Cabo San Lucas, getting around is easy within the normal parameters of town. You can walk, use Uber rides and local taxi services to bounce around town. It’s really an easy place to navigate, even when leaving the resort scene.
For visitors who need a ride between lodging and the airport, or folks just wanting to explore further into Baja Sur, shuttle services become the most economical and convenient options. A number of great services exist to service this exact need!
Cabo Airport Shuttles
Many visitors assume the airport is located in Cabo San Lucas but it’s actually nearby in San Jose del Cabo. For visitors with a hotel or resort as lodging, first ask about their free shuttle services. Many will meet you at the airport and drive for your departure at no additional cost.
If you booked a private residence or don’t have a free ride, book an airport shuttle service. They run on regular schedules with multiple passengers or you can opt for a private (but more expensive) ride to Cabo San Lucas. Regardless, it’s a short trip if you need Cabo airport transfers.
Shuttles from Cabo to Todos Santos
Another popular shuttle route exists for this budding destination. Many visitors want to explore the artistic town of Todos Santos for a day or longer. Some tour services will take you around for a full day but you can also grab a shuttle for scheduled drop off and pickups.
Cabo to La Paz Shuttle Services
La Paz does have an international airport but the flights often come with longer layovers and higher prices from North America. For this reason, many people fly into San Jose del Cabo and they shuttle to La Paz. It’s just over 2 hours of drive time and your best rates come through shared shuttle services.
There are also shuttles serving Los Barriles, La Ventana and other towns along the East Cape. Rates vary depending on the destination and some of the services will combine destinations to increase passenger numbers while decreasing rates. It all depends on the service. Of course, you can always book a private shuttle as well.
When Should You Schedule a Shuttle from Cabo?
For airport specific shuttles, timing is important. Make sure to book well ahead so you know a ride will be waiting outside the gates. The shuttle buses line up in one area for pickups. They are very easy to locate after grabbing your bags.
Other shuttle services run on-demand. I recommend checking availability at least one week ahead of your trip. Several weeks in advance is ideal during the busy winter season. You shouldn’t have any issues with a little advance notice. Feel free to compare rates and shop prices. We prefer the well established and reputable shuttle services in the area for reliability (even if the price is slightly higher).
It’s also good to know that roads in Baja Sur are generally smooth and in good overall condition. The shuttles are pretty mellow and safe. Enjoy your trip!
